Social Media: Orano
Establishing Canadian credibility for a French uranium mining company.
Work Type
- Social Media
Overview
Orano is a global leader in uranium mining, headquartered in France with operations spanning the globe. With an ambitious expansion into the resource-rich province of Saskatchewan, Orano needed to establish itself in Canada with clarity, credibility, and restraint. The goal wasn’t to improve visibility. It was to build trust from the ground up.
Challenge
Effectively, Orano was starting from zero. The company needed to communicate its arrival and presence without sounding like a faceless multinational solely there to profit from Saskatchewan’s resources. This meant threading a needle between presence, commitment, and intent, acknowledging both corporate realities and local perspectives with equal focus.
Insight
Through decades of experience, we’ve learned that credibility in Canada – particularly in the prairie provinces – isn’t earned through scale or ambition. It’s earned through tone, transparency, and local relevance. Orano’s social media platform needed to do more than simply translate global messaging. It needed to serve as a cultural bridge between Orano and Saskatchewan.
Results
The content our agency created and managed focused on responsibility, safety, and long-term commitment, positioning Orano as a responsible local employer and community partner rather than a foreign operator. This was more than a campaign drive. This was a steady signal of responsibility and intent, creating a strong foundation for ongoing engagement with Canadian stakeholders.
