Campaign: Medicine Hat Health Foundation

Speaking straight to the heart.

Work Type

  • Campaign

Overview

In southern Alberta, the fatality rate from cardiac issues is 26.6% higher than the rest of Alberta. In 2024, the Medicine Hat Health Foundation (MHHF) launched an ambitious campaign to revitalize cardiac care in the region through donor funding.

Challenge

MHHF weren't working alone – this campaign was to be planned and launched in coordination with matching drives from other southern Alberta Health Foundations like the Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation. So MHHF's campaign had to be outstanding – but not out standing alone in a silo.

Insight

Southern Albertans are a discerning, direct audience. Messaging had to be simple and authentic, cutting straight to the heart of the message truthfully and engagingly – no false promises, no outlandish claims. "Seconds Save Lives" emphasizes the everyday reality that a heart attack could potentially strike any one of us at any time, and that the consequences are life-changing.

Results

"By leveraging targeted messaging and impactful storytelling, 'Seconds Save Lives' has the potential to drive transformative support for MHHF," says Johnny Talisman, Creative Director. "Through strategic engagement across digital, social, and community channels, the campaign is reaching a broad network of supporters, sparking momentum that will strengthen cardiac care resources, enhance patient outcomes, and reinforce MHHF's position as a trusted leader in advancing healthcare in southern Alberta."
