In order to meet clients at the intersection of “now” and “next” WJ relies on bold and resilient marketers to move the needle. WJ is currently looking for their next National Business Development Manager to join their growing team. The National Business Development Manager is a critical role within WJ, primarily focused on driving our company's growth through new business development while also managing key client relationships and overseeing the basic functioning of our Saskatoon office. This role is essential in shaping our company's future, requiring a strategic approach to sales and account management, along with a hands-on role in maintaining our office environment. 

As a National Business Development Manager, your day-to-day responsibilities will  include:

New Business Development (70%):

  • Develop and execute strategies to identify and secure new business opportunities.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with potential clients, being the initial point of contact.
  • Create and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets through effective pipeline management.
  • Stay abreast of market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities.

Account Director Duties (20%):

  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of clients.
  • Understand client needs and objectives to identify upsell or cross-sell opportunities.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure project goals are aligned with client expectations.
  • Monitor project progress and address any issues to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular reviews and meetings with clients to strengthen relationships.

Office Management (10%):

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Saskatoon office.
  • Ensure the office environment is conducive to productive work.
  • Manage basic administrative tasks and facilitate office logistics.
  • Act as the point of contact for office visitors and staff needs in the Saskatoon office.

The right candidate will demonstrate on their resume:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, marketing, communications or advertising, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience working in sales and business development  
  • Previous work experience within the marketing and advertising industry or at a marketing agency is considered a strong asset
